Description
60
inch EPP pylon racing has evolved since it first started when the
Rico-SHE was one of the fastest models on the slope and in most
cases still is. Now racing 'wings' reign supreme with their much
improved performance and durability. Enter the Wanabee with it's
thin highly efficient MH64 wing section, slim fuselage, generous
tail moment and smooth flying coupled with a race winning performance.
During development it was flown against other specialist 60inch
pylon racers and more than held it's own, the biggest variable was
the person on the sticks! Guest pilots regularly complimented the
Wanabee on its performance in the turn and its acceleration out
of the turn with minimal loss of height.
If
the Wanabee is never used as a pylon racer owners
will be more than satisfied with it's performance as a sports aerobatic
sloper as the Wanabee is not only very quick but very
aerobatic. It can sustain inverted flight, do continuous outside
loops and perform rapid consequetive axial rolls.
There
is provision to carry up to 16 ozs (450gms) of lead ballast to give
added bite in strong winds.
Contruction
consists of a ply box fuselage covered in EPP and cross weave tape
whilst the wing follows the standard PMP practice of using hardwood
spars with additional centre section bracing and ply/balsa laminated
ailerons for stiffness and durability. The leading edge of The Correx
Fin is fitted with a plastic fairing which also doubles as the Rx
aerial conduit. Construction time is about 1/3 of that of a similar
wood / foam model.
The
Wanabee requires 2 metal geared micro servos (HS81MG)and
a 2/3AF size Rx battery with a small receiver (Webra /
JR R700) where the servos and crystal plugs in the end
