Description

The Synergy Acro is a fully aerobatic sloper designed to replace the very successful Synergy Aero. The all new much slimmer fuselage has full length ply fuselage sides with a plywood top and bottom forward of the wing trailing edge (similar to the Synergy Duet). This plywood box is then clad in EPP before being covered in the normal (EPP) way with crossweave filament tape. This composite, easy to build structure offers the best of both worlds i.e. 'wood' rigidity coupled with EPP durability. The wing has also undergone extensive structural redesign as it now features a substantial full depth mainspar. This not only makes the wing stronger and stiffer but quicker to build!

The net effect of these changes is a model with a much improved all round performance. Due to a significant lowering of overall drag acceleration in a dive is much improved as is speed retention during manoeuvres. Bun-Rolls (an outside loop with a roll at the bottom) are now so much easier as is stringing a sequence of manoeuvres together i.e. a stall turn followed by a roll and another stall turn at the end of the run. The Synergy Acro is a great model to develop new, more complex, manoeuvres on due to its forgiving flight characteristics and the confidence that flying EPP gives you knowing that making a mistake is not necessarily disastrous! The optimum set-up for this model is rudder elevator and twin aileron servos (metal geared micros strongly recommended) configured as flapperons which are coupled into the elevator. For this a computerised transmitter is required but the model can be flown as a straight 3 channel model with the twin aileron servos operated via a Y lead plugged into the aileron channel.

Build time is a quarter to a third of that for an equivalent model made of wood / foam veneer wings).
