Description
The
Rampage is the forth in a line of specialist 60 inch
EPP pylon racers to be produced by PMP. Each one being quicker and
sleeker than the previous one. Rampage is no exception.
The fuselage has been 'tweeked ' to make it both slimmer and more
streamlined than its predecessor. It has also undergone some minor
aerodynamic changes to improve performance as well as a few structural
changes such as built-in wing ballast boxes which make the Rampage
more user friendly and durable. Like the Wanabee it
has also been put in the hands of some top flyers to test its pedigree
all of whom have given it the thumbs up. If
you are not a pylon racing enthusiast do not despair as the Rampage
is an excellent aerobatic sports model that will fly in a wide range
of lift conditions ignoring all but the worst turbulence. As far
as aerobatics are concerned the Rampage can sustain
inverted flight, do continuous inside / outside loops and perform
rapid consequetive axial rolls.
There
is provision to carry up to 10 ozs (280gms) of lead ballast in the
wing mounted ballast boxes to give added bite in strong winds and
trade excess lift for speed.
Contruction
consists of a ply box fuselage covered in EPP and cross weave tape
whilst the wing follows the standard PMP practice of using hardwood
spars with additional centre section bracing and ply/balsa laminated
ailerons for stiffness and durability. The leading edge of The Correx
Fin is fitted with a plastic fairing which also doubles as the Rx
aerial conduit. Construction time is about 1/3 of that of a similar
wood / foam model.
The
Rampage requires 2 metal geared micro servos (HS81MG
/ HS85MG)and a AAA size Rx battery with a small receiver
(Align / JR R700) where the servos and crystal plugs in the
end
