Fast-bak

EPP Virtually Crash Proof Models Pylon Racers

For Current price see Prices

Description

The Fast-bak is the fifth model PMP have developed for the popular 60in EPP Pylon Racing class. Needless to say each model has seen an improvement in performance on its predecessor. Fast-bak is no exception. Not only is it faster and more agile but it is easier to build and more robust. Attributes essential in the world of model on model 60in pylon racing. Despite its pedigree Fast-bak is also an excellent sports model, more than capable of performing any manoeuvre that can be expected of an EPP flying wing including continous loops (inside and out), sustained inverted flight and with practice rolling circles.

The construction of Fast-bak differs from normal PMP practice in that it is a one piece model with a carbon fibre mainspar that extends almost to the wing tip. To avoid any C of G shift the wing ballast box is built around the balance point. It can house up to 450 grams of ballast. The Fin, which is mounted on two carbon rods, is detachable with the leading edge fairing acting as a conduit for the receiver aerial. Hatches are provided for easy access to the battery, receiver and nose compartment for quick frequency changes, nose weight adjustment etc. The control surfaces are laminated balsa ply to improve torsional rigidity and durability. The nose section which extends back to the front of the ballast box consists of a substantail plywood box clad in EPP. It is very robust!

The Fast-bak requires 2 metal geared micro servos (HS81MG / HS85MG or Futaba S3150 digitals) and a AAA size Rx battery with a small receiver (Align / JR RS70 (recommended) where the servos and crystal plugs in the end. The use of plastic geared servos is not recommended.l
