Description
The
EppiSoar was designed in response to numerous
requests for a light wind slope soarer / crash resistant flat
field thermal soarer that could be either hand towed into
the air or launched with the aid of a bungee. It is the EPP
equivalent of the renowned Summer Breeze and flies almost
as well despite being made from EPP.It doesn't look bad either!
The
Eppisoar flies well in very light lift, can thermal
turn on its wingtips, copes well with strong winds (when other
'lightweights' have been 'hangered'), has docile handling
characteristics yet will loop, barrel 'roll' and stall turn.
It can even be made to spin! An ideal introduction to both
flat field thermal soaring and light wind slope soaring. Building
time is about a quarter that of a similar conventional model.
Fuselage
construction consists of a tough ply box covered in EPP, reinforced
with cross-weave tape and a Correx Empanage (tailplane). The
all EPP two piece wing has full depth plywood / hardwood mainspars
with plastic strip trailing edge reinforcement. Radio equipment
consists of two standard size servos, a 'square' receiver
(Rx) battery and a 2/4 channel Rx.
